Right once you go through the roundabout coming from the Roscrea (Tesco is to the left) side there are 2 almost across the road from each other. Now another 200m further on is the doubtful one which has formula 1 markings on it.

    Yep, avoid like the plague!

The first TT is a 180 I'm sure.the engine bay is missing the steel pipe to the left and I can't see a second exhaust on the right.

Congrats, first time in 5 years I'll actually be off for a proper holiday time, 22nd til the 3rd.I think last year I worked til the 23rd, back in the 26th, and was back then in as normal from the 28th onwards straight through New Years, won't know meself this time around! :)

This one. How do you find it?

I used to get petrol there before it shut down. Seemed alright. The TDI seems more fussy or it's at least more noticeable. Normally get it in the ESSO at the race course dual carraigeway. Seems to be the best diesel price and quality wise around town.

They used to have dirty fuel years ago and i doubt the tanks were cleaned out properly tbh, i wouldn't go near them, i generally fill up on Monaghans across from work on the tuam road or in one of the two petrol stations in cloonboo/corrandulla as they are on the way home. The odd time when i visit a good friend in Castlebar i fill up at a small station on the westport road where petrol is 1.54 :p

Would love to find a place that sells 98 octane in Galway tbh

I hear ya, last year I worked 24,25,26.
This is the first year for a long time that I can enjoy the run up to Christmas without worrying about who is working when and which horrible shift I have to work.

    Enjoy Dude!

Jaysus it's cold out, went for a spin to the shop there and roads are like glass, i will be in bed until 10 or so tomorrow as im on a couple days off but watch yourselves out there tomorrow sportsfans.

Was washing car just before it got dark and as i was drying it off i gave up halfway through as the few bits of water left on the bonnet had frozen solid, so much for my ingenious plan of using hot tapwater for my 2 bucket wash :pac:

Im looking at buying a commercial carvan.its a golf with two seats.Im thinking of buyin it off my company(ex company car)

Does anyone know if i have to pay extra vat on this car since the company would have claimed the vat back first time round when they bought it?

You shouldn't have to pay it back. Technically the company you buy it off is suppose to pay the vat back at 23 percent on the sale price. Whether they do or not is a different story. Ultimately the price you agree with them provided its including vat is all you should pay. The tax man will come after them if they don't pay the vat on the sale he won't come after you as you are buying The van at a price including vat.

Anyone care to enlighten me, what exactly are coilovers?
And how do they differ from normal shocks/springs?

Not taking the piss btw, genuinely curious

A coilover is an automobile suspension device. "Coilover" is short for "coil spring over strut". It consists of a shock absorber with a coil spring encircling it. The shock absorber and spring are assembled as a unit prior to installation, and are replaced as a unit when the shock absorber has leaked. This provides for optimal damping without torsional loads. Some coilovers allow adjustment of ride height and stiffness, using a simple threaded spring perch similar to a nut. More advanced adjustable coilover systems will use a threaded shock body, coupled with an adjustable lower mount for ride height adjustment, while an adjustment knob is used to adjust damping, commonly referred to as "stiffness." Spring rate also plays a role in stiffness.
The coilover is a basic component of the MacPherson strut suspension system, which is distinguished from other arrangements by employing a particular design of anti-roll bar as a longitudinal constraint. This was the first widespread use of the coilover in automobile suspensions, but there are other designs. The word coilover should not be considered a synonym for the MacPherson strut arrangement.
Coilovers should not be confused with struts or independently mounted shock absorbers.
Coilover suspension systems have become a popular staple in the automotive aftermarket. Once limited to racing teams with the research and development budget to create performance parts, these suspension systems are now widely available from most online and retail aftermarket auto part merchants. There are 2 different types of coilovers, full coilovers and slip on coilovers. The full coilovers are matched up with a shock from the factory, while slip on coilovers are mostly just adjustible springs.

    Coilover Alternatives

    Coil Over Alternative
A coilover is not to be confused with the shock absorber and spring setup (strut); coilovers are totally independent and do not require extra parts e.g. bumpstops, ball Joints, spring cushions etc. Many people state that they are the same but this is a busted myth, hence the reason that high performance cars use independent coilovers to increase road grip, handling and comfort. On a lower budget, people will install a 'lowering kit' consisting of a spring that is of different measurement in length (mm) and fit aftermarket shock absorbers to increase comfort and handling on tighter corners where body roll may hinder performance. Coilovers come adjustable or a fixed length and normally bolt straight to a car instead of using tools (spring compressors) to fit a shock absorber and a spring to. While they are generally more expensive (up to 90% more), they still offer the greatest amount of comfort and handling compared to the earlier, strut-mounted type.
