A coilover is an automobile suspension device...

    ...

... While they are generally more expensive (up to 90% more), they still offer the greatest amount of comfort and handling compared to the earlier, strut-mounted type.

    Source?

Have ye got many cars around there LIGHTNING?

People get pissed with a wee fleet hanging about and damaging them may make the owners move them.

BC aren't too bad, same as K-sports iirc.

They'll be a good bit stiffer than a spring/damper set up but will be better in the corners.

Lol if i caught someone kicking a wingmirror off my car i think i would be going inside for awhile :p

    Cool,
Im not expecting top end kinda suspension but its 30 way adjustable damping so hopefully they will be useable for a daily driver!

Pretty good quality,I've had no issues with mine.Ride quality is all down to how soft/stiff you have the dampness set so it can be trial and error. The s2000 is pretty low so I have to avoid certain speedbumps as I bottom out,no one really complains about the hardness though but if you hit a nasty bump you'll know all about it.How cheap?

Thats all i wanted to hear, i knew nothing much about them so took a big gamble... Well I got a special offer on an fk suspension cup kit reduced from around 300 to 100, ordered the wrong set and my mechanic put them on donedeal, He got a call today from a guy who ordered the coilovers but wrong strut diameter, his isnt a gti. Made a deal to give him the suspension kit and 100 bobs! Think I done pretty good lol! :p

Get the gardai around for a chat. If who ever's doing it see's them there or hear of them calling around it might put them off doing it again. Is it a communal parking set-up?

My car is healthy again, all except for the airbag which is getting sorted tomorrow.
It may have to go to a specialist depending but I think (in my groggy flu ridden state) the mechanic said it was a connection/fuse issue. Hopefully it's an easy fix. :(

Just thought, should have had my lowering springs put in while it's in there.

But, would the car be tested with lowering spring or does it have to have the standard spring on?

I was stuck behind a queue of traffic of on the N81 (80KPH) the other day moving at about 30KPH, when I got a chance to get into the over taking lane what did I see but some middle aged soccer mom hunched right up to the window in her Rav4 looking terrified.
Tiny bit of frost, **** a brick... DON'T DRIVE!

Not sure really, no hope of me doing it though. I haven't the right tools her the know how.

They'll only be checking what's on the list so it shouldn't matter, besides, nothing wrong with lowering springs!

You shouldn't have to pay it back. Technically the company you buy it off is suppose to pay the vat back at 23 percent on the sale price. Whether they do or not is a different story. Ultimately the price you agree with them provided its including vat is all you should pay. The tax man will come after them if they don't pay the vat on the sale he won't come after you as you are buying The van at a price including vat.

    Thanks for your help!

Ah right, any chance that the car won't get up onto the ramps with lowering springs?

The ramp's on the ground, they just drive onto it.
If you're that low you won't be driving over any speed bumps anyway. :p

Was just about to say this. They drive onto the ramp then raise it :)

So the ramp is kinda part of the ground? Like on ground level? (if that makes sense)

Yep, the floor is dug out iirc

If the car was very low though you'd encounter difficulty with the brake test as there's a drop for that as the wheels slip into the roller yokes :)
