Gmail stealing focus in Safari

    Gmail is stealing focus in Safari.
    This has been happening for the last month or so, and it's driving me crazy.

    Once I log into Gmail, if I go to another tab while it's loading, it will grab focus again a few seconds later.

    Does anyone know a way to disable focus stealing in Safari?

    Why not just wait for it to load? Does it take that long?
