Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Record player repairs

My mother owns an old 1960s Dansette Viva record player. It's of great sentimental value to her. It doesn't work any more and is badly in need of repairs, including a new arm and stylus.

Seeing as there isn't much available by way of new stand-alone record players, is there anywhere in Dublin or elsewhere in the country that would take on this job?

The arm may be tricky but you can buy the stylus fairly handy. You can have a look here http://www.dansetterevolver.co.uk/dr/Home.html . I don't know of anywhere in Dublin, in general I do my own repairs, if you need help feel free to PM me

I had a problem with my record player and my amp and the lads in Sounsaround on capal street were able to help although i feel they changed things that didnt need to be changed and I think i was over priced although i was only about 15 at the time so they probably took me for a bit of a ride. if you go in and act confident im sure you'll be grand. If smokiebeverage is willing to help id try him first
