Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Chelsea have appointed former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez as interim manager until the end of the season.
Previous manager Roberto Di Matteo was sacked on Wednesday following the 3-0 Champions League defeat by Juventus.
Benitez's short-term appointment could pave the way for owner Roman Abramovich to make a summer approach for ex-Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola.
Benitez, 52, becomes the Blues' ninth manager since Abramovich took over in 2003.

Chelsea fans outside the ground chanting 'You're not welcome here, f*ck off Benitez'.
Head of Chelsea Fans on 5Live: "Benitez is a very poor manager. A terrible choice. He won the CL title on penalties. A total fluke"

Most bookies won't pay out yet as he hasn't been appointed permanently.

Paddy Power said that if someone was appointed til the end of the season then that was it. If a press release though describes his as interim manager I could see them trying to be cheeky.

oh how the mighty have fallen.

    reduced to taking part-time work.

is there even any incentive for him to do well?

he knows he is getting replaced

    can he rejuvinate fernando torres?

the whole thing is quite unsavoury

I'm sure he will have a long and fruitful spell at the club thanks to the board's easygoing and patient nature.

Of course there is incentive for him to well . Do well and he might get the job full time even if he that doesnt happen other clubs might take him if he does well .

Hopefully when he fails miserably it'll put an end to the myth that he is a good manager.

You might want to check your bet, he is an 'interim' manager, most of those bets are for next 'fulltime' manager.

Under FSG and Rodgers we aren't really going to be mixing it with Chelsea, so I wouldn't worry about it tbh.

Bad move by Chelski. I can hear the chant already - Boring, boring Chelsea.

I checked with Betfair before taking the bet . . Once he has managed 10 games they payout .. I got evens so thought it was a no brainer . . Its money in the bank . . (or at least on deposit) . . Surely even Roman cant get rid of an interim manager that quickly! I think Roman will give him a few games that gives my bet a chance . .

(Benitez to Chelsea) Absolutely numb since I heard the news. I can't eat or drink, and most likely won't be able to sleep tonight.

    That's Mr Alan.

I know, I should take a leaf out of out manager's book - talking a good game gets you lots of credit irrespective of what you're actually doing.

Under FSG and Kenny yous couldn't mix it with Chelsea despite them having their worst league finish in a decade.

Why are 'Pool fans wishing him luck? He's a legend at your club, so wanting him to do well at another club is normal but at Chelsea? I thought there would be a line drawn there.

I'm just looking in from the outside though.

What's the problem? It's not like they're competitors, Chelsea are challenging for the league, Liverpool will be glad to finish in the top half of the table.

"@CFCChatter Right lets get this chant sorted: You're not wanted here. You're not wanted here. **** of Benitez, you're not wanted here. (Repeat 90 mins)"

I seriously struggle to understand Chelsea fans.

Who cares what Liverpool fans think anyway.

How are the Chelsea boys feeling about this? Who is CHD posting under now?
