Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Players have to take their share of the blame but if they're not performing it's up to the manager to drop them or get the best out of them. There's no excuse for dropping points from a winning position in your last 3 games against Reading, Southampton and Newcastle.
That's where the manager shows his worth in seeing a game out.
Can't afford to drop anyone with so many players missing including around 5 starters..

Not at all, they have vastly better striking options than chelsea but after that the first 11's are similar. They also have bigger squads than chelsea.
Think you're overestimating Chelsea's defence there.

No, neither manchester clubs have a great defence, very average in fact. Chelsea's defence is just as bad but man for man it's certainly not inferior.

I'd disagree. Particularly in terms of City. United less so.

Avram Grant lost 5 game in his 54 in charge. Scolari lost 5 in his 36. Benitez has lost 5 in 21

Get shot of him now please

But did ye not see how great he was when they beat Villa 8-0? When they win, its Rafa's genius, when they lose its the players/owners fault

I think he should go alright, it would stop the players hiding behind him anyway.

Literally nobody said rafa was a genious after the 8-0 win. It was more about how sh!te villa were/are.

You can't use one great game to counter a whole tenure of turd. I like Rafa but he has done so poorly.

Not a single Chelsea fan said it was down to him. But to others he had laid hands on Torres, curing the effects of years of injuries and tweaked the tactics. In their world he would go on to win the league cup, europa league and get CL football next year

What are you talking about? Who thought that?

It was implied by a few in fairness.

Arf! He's rotated the squad, perked up Torres, tweaked the tactics (always the bit that takes longest to show positive change) and is still one bad game away from getting boo'd I'd say.
He'll win them the League Cup, the Europa League and have them playing Champions League football next season.

There was some other ramblings about him going on to dominate the league for 'as long as he liked'. All very cringeworthy stuff

Not from chelsea fans though, some pro benitez liverpool fans did say some stuff like that.

You can't take the opinions of Liverpool fans on Liverpool or Rafa/Kenny seriously though. That 'next year is our year' joke didn't come from nowhere.

The players don't take Rafa seriously – he is a joke. Hope his gone by the next game.

Who are you going blame then though, it's Chelsea that are going to come out of this looking like a joke not Rafa. All parties are in a no win situation now.

Rafa is looking pretty **** too. The first Chelsea manager in a while who will actually deserve his sacking.

Chelsea have looked like a joke since they sacked mourinho but benitez has now destroyed his reputation in england and won't work there again (not at a high level anyway).

I'm not so sure, Chelsea are still in the same position as when he took over. Them players are not giving 100% to the cause though which is his main problem, the players know they won't be blamed they know they can go hiding in games and they won't abused for it. They need terry back in that side badly, whatever people think about him he is a great leader and won't stand for the standard the players are playing at.

Rafa Benitez was wheeling his shopping trolley across the supermarket car park when he noticed an old lady struggling with her bags of shopping. He stopped and asked, “Can you manage dear?” to which the old lady replied, “no way you got yourself into this mess, don’t ask me to sort it out!”

That's from a Liverpool fan site.

Some things don't change for the interim manager.

Please go. We don't want you.

Interim Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez has told his players he expects to stay at Stamford Bridge next season in an attempt to raise morale.

The only thing that will raise is a wry smile from Roman Abramovich.
