    update - we kept him in overnight and called the pound this morning, I also called the lady referred to earlier who was missing a dog.

    Doesn't sound like the same one, but she is checking pound.

    Don't give him to the pound!! He will be put down if not claimed in a couple of days.
    Contact MADRA or GSPCA.
    There is a Lost and Found thread in the animals forum as well.

    He's gone to the pound for 8 days, thats how long they'll hold him.
    If no one claims him we've found a home for him.

    Living Social had deal yesterday for microchipping €16 in Briarhill Vets
    and also remind people to keep address up to date if they move house, change phone numbers etc..

    Who told you that? The pound by law only has to hold onto strays for 5days.
