Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Funny that,

Pepe needs replacing. He doesn't make any saves any more.

We've been complacent and naive here.

    Lovely Goal.

Liverpool to get one more chance though.

Great goal, eye of a needle between the two defenders.

Great goal, eye of a needle between the two defenders.

Was given way too much time to tee up the shot though

That loose pass by Rodgers was directly to blame.

    Elaborate would you?

It was a fairly nice goal.

It was obviously all Suarez' fault

Gah, unlucky yet again. Very sloppy late on so only ourselves to blame and all Joe Cole's good work has gone to waste.

Don't rate Shelvey and his demeanour on the pitch bugs me.

    Thought Liverpool deserved the win.

Just 2 nice goals from Young Boys.

More positives if I was Pool fan.

Furthest man forward losing ball should not lead to goal
WHole team of players to get through,
Way to easy, Our midfield is invisible at times, Easily bypassed

How hard is for players like Gerrard and Shelvey to play conservative controlled football? I'll tell ya - far too hard. The laast time the twosome were in the middle with Sahin something
similar happened if I recall rightly.

Fair point! He really should have shot instead of checking back 3 times though!

We were excellent in patches though tonight, before Gerrard, Suarez & Sterling came on, plenty of positives should one be so inclined to look for them! :p

Why not pick your best side.

Win the game, then rest players in final game.

Questionable if the two can play together in the same team.

Exactly and that wasn't the first time this season that we only had to see out the game by keeping possession.

We should have learned this by now, but no players still going for another with 4mins on the clock. Still playing really high up and Sterling and Assasidi not told to tuck in.

All it took was for us to lose possession which happened over 10times in the last 5mins directly from play. That's inexcusable in my book and Rodgers should have been screaming for them to shore it up.

We could see it here. He could see it there - no excuses !

Watch the replay and take a look at Stevie Gerrard strolling back as their midfield bear down on our goal for that equaliser.

Its not the first time he has stood up when we lose possession. A central midfielder of his supposed stature and experience should be slowing the game down and winding down the clock. No getting caught out so far up the field.

Fundamental problems in midfield that need addressing, once again the balance is completely off when Gerrard and Sahin play together.

We should have stuck Gerrard in right full, Henderson was doing fine. He was at fault for the first goal though.

Taking Suso off was a mistake from Rodgers. We were keeping possession far better and the team was set up nicely.

I think youre right here. Yet another example why Gerrard cannot be considered in the same class as Keane, Scholes, Viera, etc. IMO.

The worst thing about tonight is the fact that if Lucas was fit Zverotic would never have got that shot off, hurry up and get fit Lucas :mad:

Gerrard played well, had a lovely assist too.

The midfield would be better set up if the manager played the players to their strengths.

See this is what pisess me off and we still look like we haven't learned to hold onto a lead after past mistakes.

Keep possession and stop giving way possession so bloody easy.come on see this out.

    Nail on the head.

Same thing against Reading where we weren't punished. I'm all for killing off the game up and not sitting back up to the 80th/85th minute, but after that you need to be clever about it.

We need to be able to change the dynamic of the game in this situation. The game stayed open, end to end fast and we did nothing to stop that.

Free-kick 30/35 meters out with 5 minutes left. Why not play it short, knock around, make Young Boys chase us around a bit? Instead we take a shot. Stupid decision.

Tonight we were gifted a chance to qualify and it should have been done and dusted tonight. Now we need to go to Italy and get a point (perhaps more). That won't be easy and will require a few first teamers to ensure it.

    Frustrating.
