Great work. Could you tell me how you go on developing your own for the first time. I was thinking of doing the same as I find the local photo shop a little expensive and a hassle to travel to. Is it expensive to buy the gear?

Thanks (: I was doing it more for the fun than to save money. The chemicals and equipment cost about €80 in the Camera Exchange (though he gave me a student discount). I just told him what I wanted to do and he picked out what I needed. The scanner (cheap, not particularly good) was about €60 on Amazon.

I then used this video as a general guide to see how it's done. I researched specific times and solutions for the chemicals and film I was using, then wrote it down as a step by step process.

Lots of planning ahead, but it took like a half hour to actually do it

You beat me to that one Bren! Was passing through Ennistymon on NYE but I was too cold after the cliffs to pull up and start on that too. Love the colour the houses add in the background

I took this back in June.... so it was nice and warm :-)
Out shooting on NYE? Fair play....my wife would kill me if I said I was going out for a shoot on that day:eek::eek:

I've had my first flickr explore appearance with a photo that I think wasn't that great TBH. Hadn't taken enough photo so decided to do a 365 this year (yeah lame I know) but I want to get out there and enjoy taking photo's again...

Its awesome. It really looks like the scan has let it down/lost so much detail in the shadows and tones. See if you can get it scanned elsewhere or try to print it and then scan it.

I love it! I can see (for me, from my miserable experience from my Canon 9900F scanner) crushed shadows and loss of detail. I know it has so much more detail in it.

Yeah, I was thinking that when I eventually go through a decent amount of rolls of film, and can decide from scanning them which are worth it, I'd either bring them somewhere to get scanned better or invest in something like one of those Plustek Opticfilm's
