On IE 8 and refreshed my screen and my layout reverted to the old style layout. I got the message saying that "We have ceased support for your browser and you have been redirected to 'old style' boards.ie."

    However, as I said, I'm using IE8.

When I log out and go back to the log in screen it displays the new layout, but once I log in I get the unsupported browser message. I've change the display and appearance settings but nothing.

Edit for more info. When I go to the appearance settings page, the page that opens up is also the new layout. Once I leave there I go back to the old style layout.

Problem is most likely to do with compatibility mode being turned on which makes the site see you as being in IE7.

There's a little icon to the right of your address bar, is it clicked?

Cheers Paddy, clicking it seems to have resolved it. No idea how I switched it on in the first place, must have hit it accidentally.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
