Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Strange iPhone 4 factory unlock problem.

Strange problem with iPhone unlock, friend purchased iPhone 4 from another friend which was locked to O2 Ireland. After a few months of use he was having problems with the camera so he brought it back to the to the Apple store in Belfast and was given a refurbished one no problem. So now one year on he has left O2 to now find out that his replacement iPhone is locked to them. Now their is no record of the phone in the system so they won't send a request of unlock to Apple. The problem seems to be because the phone was a replacement from Belfast which as part of UK has different providers than here in Ireland. So the phone originated in UK which means no record of it on O2 Ireland. Apple won't unlocked even though they locked it to O2 ireland because the request hasn't come from the O2 and O2 won't unlock because they never had phone originally.

Has anyone had a problem like this before.

    Cheers

Is it not very unusual for a re-furbed iphone to be locked to any network, asking the obivous but have you tried a non o2 sim in the phone?if it is locked to 02 I'd be talking to apple to see if they can do anything.

See it everyday in work, you can get a letter from Apple stating your old IMEI and than the replacement one, submit it to 02 and they should than be able to request the unlock.
