Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello all,

I want to drag my dad kicking and screaming into the modern age with a new phone, he's amazed with how much can be done on a smart phone so I'd like to get him an android based one as that's what I use.

Any suggestions from the current crop of phones on the market in Ireland? The specs I'm looking for would be: under 300 euro, a decent battery life is a must, a good camera (quick shutter action and refresh) and well that's about it. I have thought of getting one with a hard qwerty keyboard to make texting a bit easier for him but I don't like how small the screens are on what I've looked at. I'll be back in Ireland for Christmas so I'd like to buy one new from a shop so he can walk in somewhere if there's problems down the line. Either sim free from the likes of Carphone Warehouse or pre-pay with Vodafone as that's who he's currently with.

    Thanks in advance.
