I was wondering could anyone explain to me what the weekly standing charge of €6+ set on a token meter is for?

Hi emffb1,

Can send me your details by private message so I can look into this for you? Token meters should only display the credit/debit amounts on the front screen. The standing charge for token meter customers is the same as for any other customer, and that in turn depends on the tariff you are on (i.e. urban/rural, 24hr/nightsaver). The €6 charge you mention is more likely the minimum per week that you need to pay back towards your arrears.
