Looking for a mid range tablet. Have a few in mind, suggestions?

My price range is currently 120-140. I'm getting it for my son for christmas. He has been eyeing the nexus 7, but Its out of the price range a bit.
He would use it for books, comics, games, movies, internet, really anything it can do.
I was wondering if this one would be close to it.

Would it be up to scratch comparing to the nexus 7. Is there any cheap nexus 7 alternitive? any help would be great thanks

SAMSUNG GALAXY was £119 after cashback in currys up north today
also the KINDLE FIRE was £99

do you have any experience with the Galaxy tab? and what version would be the best in price-quality range?

i dont know much about them but im considering buying one for the daughter so been comparing prices and specs.
from what i gather the galaxy is a good buy for the money at £119, has SD storage space so thats a big plus.
kindle is linked to amazon app store so that would put me off , id pay the extra twenty quid for the galaxy.
