Hello boardsies, i need to request something out of you today as it's coming close to the time of me ordering and building my first computer. I know how to do my bits and bobs such as building the computer and setting it up and such but when it comes to picking the parts and such not so good.

The computer will be used for : General daily use, high end gaming, possibly software such unity and rendering movies and such.

I've already got my 1080p monitor (1920x1080).

I need the mouse (Preferably wired and gamer mouse), Speakers (Logitech?) Keyboard (Razer or logitech) in that budget aswell.

Feel free to post suggestions along with the ideas for the build

1. What is your budget? 1200€

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming, Rendering, Software development possibly

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes, Windows 8 please.

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No.

5. Do you need a monitor? No.

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? 1920x1080 and no.

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Mouse, Speakers, Keyboard, Possibly Card reader.

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Maybe

8. How can you pay? Visa Debit, Paypal or Bank transfer.

9. When are you purchasing? Around mid December if the site allows that.

New deathadder came out recently so have a look at that if you want a good mouse that will last. I've had mine for 5 years.
Can't help with speakers, and the keyboard will depend on what cash you have left.

Tuxy that looks pretty good. I'd prefer to have Nvidia graphics in the build.

Hmm, Sounds fair. I mainly play SOURCE games such as CSS, L4D, TF2, L4D2 etc.. Surely they will all run at the highest settings possible?

and max everything in source engine games and still have extra gpu power to spare for more demanding games. Then I would recommend you get yourself a nice PC case with what you have left over.

i'd spend a bit extra on the mobo and get the Asrock Extreme 4 give you the option to sli in the future and i've read it's better to overclock using this board aswell

Depends on if he would make use of the cuda cores in Nvidia cards. Also the 660 is faster in some games so it depends on the game.

Hmm... So much graphic card choices

Not currently but they may be used in the future at some point during the software devlopment if it happens.

An Nvidia card can help to reduce rendering times in those applications.

Yeah I think the gtx 660 is good value for money. It will play all the latest games in 1080p with good frame rates. Source engine games won't tax it at all.

As for cases its a very personal thing I like corsair cases but they may not be to your taste.

If you think you might be rendering large movie files at some stage extra ram may come in handy too

The cases look fine but like you said it's more of a personal taste. Alright so 16gb of ram should be fine.

I'll have to sit down and look at all the parts before making the order but thanks for the suggestions so far!

I have ordered from the twice before and was very happy both times.
It took 2 days for the bank transfer to clear and 4 days for the items to reach me. I have no idea when/if they close for xmas.
When were you planning on ordering?

Early/Mid december would be my guess. So between 13-21st of december more likely.
