Reduce noise from outside apartment

I live down a one way street which is good,less cars but there is a popular pub down street that had a big crowd. I live on the top floor. Just want to reduce the noise coming in the window. I going try white noise but I live with others. Any practical advise.

Maybe invest in some heavy curtains and draft excluders!
