    Rucking Fetard does not approve.

You left out USB/External, so you did.

    Nope, can't find one either.

    Whats the budget?

Only drive I can see that does it at all is this Blu-Ray and I looked everywhere.

    Write Speed
    32x (CD) / 16x (DVD±R) / 4x (DVD±R DL) / 8x (BD-R) / 8x (BD-R DL)

    pix
    currys
    komplett
    memoryc
    dabs

Why need 16x? 8x (or less) would generally be a more reliable burn.

Cheers dude - thanks a mill for that
    • 16x burns take just over 5 minutes
    • 8x burns take just over 8 and a half minutes
makes a big difference if i am doing 40 or 50 discs

have had very few issues with the quality of the burn because of the 16x speed.

think the laser is gone in the burner - happened in the last one i had as well - it was overworked....!!

am just surprised that there are no 16x writers out there anymore...

I'm curious as to why it has to be a 16X ? Even if that speed is selected the drive will still pick an optimal speed based on the media and the data transfer rate. Given it's a USB drive the transfer may be erratic depending on how many other devices are attached ?!

That said, if aesthetics are bottom of the list, you could get a SATA full sized drive and a SATA to USB adaptor ? Most of the external drives you see are the small laptop type drives with an 8X burn speed in my experience.

    Thanks Ken

Think i will just take the hit on the speed and run with an 8x...

Can get this drive http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-DRX-S90U-Powered-External-DVDRW/dp/B005FRJIRO in Harvey Normans for 45 quid....

    Seems ok....
