Probably depends a lot on spec/brand/budget... So some more info on some of your requirements would help.

I was just looking for a basic laptop mainly just for the internet, streaming videos, and to store music and pictures. I'm not too concerned about the size of the storage but I'm hoping to only spend around €300.

Here's a recent topic about sub €400 laptops. Seems most offers have expired though;-( (the Argos link I posted there was €369 and is now back up to €599)
