Electronic Metal?

Does this exist? I think it would be awesome to take electronic music and merge it with the compositional aspects of metal - key changes, atonality etc. Surely there are some bands/DJs out there that do this? If so I'd be very interested in hearing them so if you have a suggestion please name them. The more insane and wild…

I'd say check out Psyclon 9 or Dawn of Ashes, but I'd prolli be wrong.

A band that combines serious metal with banging techno and a splash of ambient would be all my bases covered if such an animal existed. I live in hope.

You've got to hand it to the Japanese, they're not really bothered about defining music in tightly controlled genres they just fire whatever they like into the mix.

This is the closest thing to what I've been looking for so far.

Is there no band out there that is purely electronic but has the intensity of metal? I don't even require real instruments, it can be all electronic but with some degree of complexity.

Regardless if this is a real thing or not, I do like a lot of the suggestions - Psyclon 9 is pretty cool too.

If it's 'purely electronic but has the intensity of metal' then something like Autechre would at times be close. I've seen them live and it's a pretty intense experience. Look for their more recent material as some of the older stuff though wonderful is more ambient.
