Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How would you feel if instead of a gift someone 'gave' you the joy of giving some family in Africa a goat/well/school for a year? Would you be overcome with seasonal goodwill a la Scrooge? Or would you be thinking 'WTF? Where's my real present?'.

Not every year but yeah I given them to my son.Obviously not as his main present but to remind my son there are lots of people out there less fortunate than him. One year I got him a goat and a cow or something like that and he loved the fact it helped people and kept the pictures of the cow and goat and the little cert on his wall for ages and told people how he helped poor people Africa.

I don't see the harm in it at all.

I bought a goat five years ago for a friend from Concern....it was 30eur or something. It was more a novelty gift then a thoughtful one (but hey, someone got a goat out of it) ..... Since then, twice a year (maybe more often) , Concern sends me an expensive looking booklet with photos and lots of pages suggesting I buy more goats etc...Id say I have received about 30eur worth of stationary/postage over the 5 years. Kinda annoys me and has made me question further donations. If i could text stop, i would!!!
