Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I have just renovated my house but all of the TV cable runs and CAT6 to the attic are unlabelled.

Is there an easy way to ID these considering that for the TV cable both ends are unlabeled and for the CAT6 the attic end is unlabelled?

    Thanks in advance

Try a multimeter with a very long wire. Most meters have one sound outlet on them .Have someone in the attic with one end of the wire(say A single core electrial cable suitable for lights connections) Bare each end of the cable and have a second person in the attic touching the end of each cable you are trying to identify in turn while the person with the meter starts in one room and as soon as the meter beeps label at both ends. The same procedure for each room. I have done it successfully a few times The cat cable should have each wire colour coded but you will need a special tool to attach the fittings at each end.Hope this is useful to you.TMULL
