I was in France in the summer of 2009. Farmers protests are something to behold. In one day we saw:

-Roving road blocks of tractors blocking the main motorway from the west coast ports to Paris, watched on by Le Coppers

-A convoy of tractors turn up in a mid sized town, go to each of the 3 or 4 large supermarkets there, block the entrance to each carpark trapping those inside, rush into the shop floor, grab all the milk and all the beer and spend half an hour pouring all the milk down the drains outside while drinking all the beer, after which they set fire to the leftover packaging in a trolley bay thereby destroying it, then moving on to the next superstore victim, more pissed on beer each time! Again the cops held way back.

I didnt know whether to be impressed or appalled, but sitting on a shady bench with a milkshake watching it all unfold was very entertaining!
