Traffic violations are dealt with by state courts so how she pays the fine depends on where the court case was heard. Surely if she knows she was fined, she knows where the court is located and she should ask them?

Equally, she should know where the traffic violation happened and it's reasonable to assume that the case was heard in the local court. Same applies if she only received a ticket from a traffic cop, ring the local police station and ask them.

Nobody here can answer your question.

If she was issued with a fine, she should have some paperwork to go with it. That should have info on it as to how the fine should be paid, and/or an email address or phone number to contact if she needs additional information. What was it, a parking fine, a speeding ticket, or some other moving violation?

If it was a month ago, I'd advise her to get moving on this as soon as possible, especially if she has any plans to return to the US. The Yanks don't pussyfoot around with this type of thing. If she gets a fine and doesn't pay it within a specified time frame, a court summons will be issued. If she doesn't show up for that, a bench warrant will be issued for her arrest. If she tries to enter the US again, she'll get nabbed as soon as she does. Don't mean to alarm your or her, but seriously, they don't mess around with this kind of stuff across the pond !

Most tickets for traffic violations have instructions on where to mail the check.......you only need to deal with the courts if it's a major infraction or you're going to dispute it.

If the OP's sister is here in Ireland, she'll need to go to the bank or post office and get an international money order/bank draft in US dollars to pay the fine. She won't be able to write a check in euros drawn on an Irish bank, to pay a fine in US dollars.

It's written on the back of the paperwork that she got from the cop/sheriff or trooper when pulled.
