Large volumes of traffic can be expected in the city centre and in the general Dublin 4 area throughout the event window culminating in a gradual build-up in the vicinity of the RDS grounds in the run up to the event and during the event. The RDS is also hosting the Dublin Christmas Crafts Fair in the main exhibition halls from Wednesday 5th to Sunday 8th December 2012.

    Parking Restrictions:

From 6:00 am on 3rd December and each morning of the event, parking will be prohibited at the following locations:
    1. Simmonscourt Road – both sides from Merrion Road to Anglesea Road.
    2. Shrewsbury Road – both sides from Merrion Road to Ailesbury Road.
    3. Sandymount Avenue – Left side from Merrion Road to the DART line.

A temporary Taxi Rank will be facilitated at this location close to Merrion Road to replace the Taxi Rank removed from Simmonscourt Rd.

Illegal parked vehicles will be towed away.

    Road Closures:

Simmonscourt Road and Shrewsbury Road will be closed to through traffic from 6.00am on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th November until approximately 8.30pm each evening.

Access will be maintained for residents in so far as it is safe to do so, on production of valid driving licence and/or proof of address. Residents of Simmonscourt, Simmonscourt Castle and Simmonscourt Square residential developments may only access from Anglesea Road.

    Traffic Diversions:

Traffic will be diverted via Ailesbury Road and Anglesea Road so as to avoid Simmonscourt Road and Shrewsbury Road.

The OSCE (which I presume is Organisation for Security & Co-operation in Europe) are having their conference. I presume the traffic management plan is as much for security as it is for traffic.
