    Dear all, :)

We are looking for a bit of advice on which is the better move... Calgary or Toronto. We are planning on moving from Ireland to Canada in 2013 an we can not decide on which city would be best for us.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

from what I know there is more work in Calgary, due to Alberta's oil industry

You should come to Calgary! Toronto is too big and its too difficult to find work there. Calgary is about to boom again and they are screaming for employees in every position imaginable. You will have no trouble getting set up here or getting work. The mountains are an hour away and theres so much to do. Good Luck

Is Toronto really that difficult to find work in??

I'm heading over there in June. One of the best mates I made from travelling before is from Toronot which is why I chose to start there when I go to Canada.

I'll be going over with a good bit of money saved but still plan on going on the job hunt straight away and hopefully settling in as soon as I can.

From what I've been reading on here though that's wishful thinking! :(

Whilst I'm not saying you won't get work in Toronto, I think Calgary at the moment has more openings and it is much easier to get accomodation and get settled than it is in Toronto. If you have contacts in Toronto that's great, but with its large population and vast size it may be a little more difficult if you are going it alone. Canada in general offers so much at the moment. Don't be afraid to travel around. Good Luck
