Have just purchased three large Hippeatstrum Doubles and am wondering what are the planting guidelines ie.planting depth and how far they have to be spaced from one another.I have a large pot to plant them in but can they be panted in the ground(flowerbed). Also whens the ideal time to plant them

You only plant them about two thirds deep, a large part of the bulb will be above compost level. They also really like their roots restricted, so only about an inch of space around them to the side of the pot. I only do one per pot but I would assume for 3 and inch apart and to the sides of pot.
Add plenty of grit to your compost for drainage and make sure there are holes at the bottom of your container and don't over water. I doubt they would survive in the garden in Ireland.
