Will Sandro be fit for Thursday?
Spurs were hoping that Sandro may be able to play some part of their Europa League tie against Dnipro in Ukraine on Thursday but his participation has now been put in doubt.

    Will Sandro be fit?
Will Sandro be fit for Spurs Europa league tie?

Playing in an Under 21 Premier League match against Bolton Wanderers yesterday lunch-time Sandro was the subject of a heavy tackle and had to limp off after 51 minutes.

The Brazilian midfielder, such a favourite at The Lane, has been suffering with a calf injury lately after injuring his hamstring against Liverpool in December. The 24-year-old will today undergo a medical assessment with the club's medical staff before any decision can be made.

Whilst Sherwood has vowed to put out a strong team for the European tie it was expected that the likes of Sandro would be given some game time to help him get match fit. We have seen with the return of Andros Townsend that it takes a little while to get up to speed and full match fitness so in that respect it was and is an important tie.

Tim Sherwood will be hoping the medical staff give him the thumbs up.

    Sandro Update: Calf Injury Confirmed

    Sandro Update: Calf Injury Confirmed

As per our recent match report on the Tottenham vs Bolton Premier U21 League game, it has been confirmed that Sandro is indeed crocked.

This is the second time in two months that a Sandro has featured in a friendly for Spurs, and the second time he has been withdrawn from play. In a friendly with West Ham on January 23rd, the Brazilian was replaced in the 46th minute by Veljkovic.

Playing against Bolton, as per our report, Sandro was caught by a tackle and went off, he was replaced by Lameiras. This occurred in in the 52nd minute.

This morning, in the Evening Standard, Tom Collomosse reports that Sandro remains unfit to play.

Emmanuel Adebayor, Jermain Defoe and Kyle Walker are all thought to have been left out of the squad for the tie, while midfielder Sandro has also been kept back as he continues his recovery from a calf injury.

Tottenham appear to have recurrent issues with injured players. Physioroom.com must spend half their day just updating the Tottenham listing.

Erik Lamela appears to develop a different injury every few weeks and has yet to feature for Spurs in 2o14. At the moment he has a “back injury.”

Danny Rose sustained a “toe injury” that took forever to solve and he too is out yet again, this time with “a knock.” Other Spurs players unavailable for selection include Sigurdsson and Chiriches.

Tottenham’s Europa game against Dnipro tomorrow will go ahead as scheduled, despite political unrest. Parts of Kiev are in a meltdown of civil disorder, with deaths now estimated at 25.

Sandro's appearances with Spurs in the league:

    10/11: 19
    11/12:23
    12/13:22
    13/14:12

As much as I rate him and consider him among the best at his role around, he's not really consistent is he? We're yet to see a decent full season from him.

12 games this season in the league is worrying. We need a player of his calibre to be playing 30+ league games a season.

Tim says that he'll be playing some part of the game tonight which is good. Love him as a player but that record throughout the seasons is shockingly poor.

He put in a good shift tonight even if he was a bit rusty.

Not surprising though, as he's been out for over 2 months. Love seeing him play though. The Beast is back :P

Turning up to a random birthday party and banging out a few tunes on the guitar, he's not your average footballer. :)
