Pure strategy vs mixed strategy nash equilibrium

I just came across a question that asked me to find all the pure strategy nash equilibrium AND mixed strategy nash equilibrium of a 2 player game. I have found the 2 pure strategy nash equilibrium and always thought if the pure strategy existed there was no need for mixed strategy.

So without going into detail of the question, does anyone know if a different mixed strategy nash equilibrium could exist also?

    Thanks for any help :D

Look at the battle of the sexes/bach or stravinsky game (whatever your book calls it). It has 2 pure strategy nash equilibria and one mixed strategy equilibrium.

Okay think I got it. There may be a third equilibrium (for a 2x2 player game) at the points where the the probability of choosing one strategy in relation to the payoff makes the player indifferent.

I may have phrased that badly but I think I got it. Thanks for pointing in the right direction
