I am allowed a VAT refund as a foreigner in Ireland?

    Hi
I'm in Ireland on a short work assignment (6 months). I'm wondering if I am allowed a refund of VAT (basically gift items and any non-food purchases I do in Ireland) when I leave the country?

If so, what is the procedure to get this refund?

And if not, then what is the time limit (if it cannot be applied to my 6 months' stay) under which one visitor to Ireland must qualify for a VAT refund?

    Thanks!
