11.30 am started lashing rain. Has eased now with the odd shower but at least the sun has come out in between. Hopefully following MT's forecast and will improve gradually before next lot comes - give us time to walk the dog in comfort

It has turned very windy in Castlebar in the past hour with strong gusts and frequent heavy showers. Very dark also.

Feeling Very Warm and Sticky. Partly Cloudy with cloud cover that increased as the day went on. Afternoon thunderstorm expected with an 80% chance of rain in the range of 10 - 20mm. Radar is currently showing a storm heading this direction that is about 60 km long on with the nearest tip 20km south of here. As I wrote that last line I just head several rumbles of thunder!! oh and i just spotted rain!!

Camera is charged I`m still hoping to get some lightning shots (since i no longer have a dslr, only a compact it is proving very hard).

6am we had a temperature of 25.6c with an overnight low of 24.3c at 12.30am

Unbelievable wind in Wexford today. Sea at Kilmore quay was crashing in over the harbour wall. We've just lost our electricity in the last 15 mins though luckily it flickered for a few mins before it went so we were prepared. Within 6 mins of it happening the esb had a message on their emergency line - fair play to their efficiency, at least we know that they knew. Very romantic here with the fire and candles but we'll need it sorted soon to save contents of the fridge and plug in phones etc for communication
