Hi. Recently I have changed my mind in which career I wish to pursue after I have completed my Leaving Certificate...(again).
I always wanted to do primary teaching but do not think I will be able to get the Higher C3 grade that is required.
I have now decided that I would like to do secondary teaching in French and Music as they are my two highest graded subjects.
My question to you is this...is it possible to do an Arts degree in Maynooth for example, in French and Music and become a secondary school teacher or is there a different root I need to take?

Hello there. Im in maynooth - i have a degree in geog and english. And a masters. Im starting my whats called a PDE next sept 2013 which is what qualifies me to be a secondary school teacher.

So yes you would be looking at the right root. If your looking into music secondary school teaching - check out mater dei. They have particular courses particularly aimed at becoming a secondary school teacher by the end of it.
