Panthers-Saints may decide whether it's a first round bye or wildcard berth for the 2 teams. I'll be eager for some payback after my awful game-losing gaffe in the 4th quarter of week 2.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,341 ✭✭✭Nelbert

Packers moved to 10-3 last night. Weird problems after our game resulted in the score not being posted. 21-7 was the real score. Couple of beers and me forgetting I was playing on the boards league against a player's team as opposed to just cpu resulted in the score that is up on the league. The lions remain placed to help or hinder the bears late surge in the final week, with the Packers and Bears facing off in Week 15 potentially helping decide who settles for the wildcard spot.

    Or Santry, multiple time champ!!!

Dave has never made a Championship game, so he can have one!

Think the Packers and the Panthers have sealed wildcard spots?

This was one of the steals of the season and possibly one of your biggest mistakes of the regular season, I needed a td and you didn't cover deep. :D

    Looking forward to the replay.

After my debacle tonight. I was expecting a loss against Dave, but against the CPU a win.

Now 8-6 and 2 very tough games coming up and probably 2 losses coming up too.

Need to hope the Pats lose one gametoo... Mikey... :D

I think im gonna miss out.

If the JAgs beat the Pats, the PAts will beat the Fins.
I would need to beat the Jags then as the Pats have beaten me.
If the Pats beat the Jags its an early bath for the Titans..

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,395 ✭✭✭davetherave

I've beaten the Titans, the Texans and the Broncos and lost to the Ravens,
So if I win this week, regardless of any other results I'll get the 6th seed going into week 17.
If I lose, then I need the Colts to beat the Texans(if they win this week), Jags to beat the Titans and the Broncos can do whatever they like because I'll have the H2H against them.

In week 17 if I win, then I'd need the Titans to lose and I'd need the Texans to do something something.....

    TL:DR Win or go home.

Dave If we end up on the same record I think you still go through even if its 8-8 but don't quote me!

A win tonight I think and I'm guaranteed a place in the playoffs.

So can I still make the play offs? If the bears lose this week and next and I win next week does that mean I take the no. 6 seed?

    Come on Jags!!!

    Don't see why not!

That would really make a case for the NFC South being the best strongest division in the NFC at least! Especially as I wouldn't consider myself better than the Bucs

    Dallas Cowboys (7-8) (Div:3-2) (Con:4-7)
    Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-8) (Div:2-3) (Con:4-7)
    Key Fixtures

    Details

The Washington Redskins and the New York Jets have sealed 1st seed in their conferences.

Both 2nd seeds are up for grabs. The Jags must match how the Chiefs do to get AFC 2nd seed. The Packers must match how the Panthers do to get NFC 2nd seed.

Both wildcards are currently a mess if I'm honest :pac: I'm going to try best explain the AFC.

    In simple terms,
a win for the Ravens and Titans will see them both make the play offs.
If the Patriots win, and one or both of the Titans and Broncos lose, they are in.
If the Patriots and Broncos win, and both the Titans and Ravens lose, the Titans would be out and it would go down to common opponents between the other 3.

In the NFC, I'm just gonna hope one of the Bears and Falcons win :pac: If the Bears match the Falcons result, they are in, if the Falcons better the Bears result, they are in.

If they were both to lose, I haven't got a clue what would happen as it depends who finishes 8-8 and whether head to heads would be used or not.

    Week 17 Key Games

New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins (CPU)
    Cincinatti Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens
    Tennessee Titans @ Jacksonville Jaguars
    Washington Redskins @ Dallas Cowboys
    Detroit Lions @ Chicago Bears
Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers
Atlanta Falcons @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers
Denver Broncos @ Kansas City Chiefs

I'm off away until Monday, I hope it's a lot more clear when I'm back :pac:

Best of luck lads. So many games have something riding on them in week 17!!

It's impossible for the Buccs to qualify for the playoffs. To do so i would need the Lions to beat the Bears having the 3 teams on a 8-8 record but the Lions would improve their conference record to 6-6 beating me at 5-7.

    for teams to qualify
Bears: win v Lions 9-7 qualified beating falcons on conference record.
Lose v Lions, Falcons lose... Bears beat the Vikings head to head
    Lions division record
    Cowboys conference record
    Buccs conference record

Falcons: win v Buccs and Bears lose
Lose v Buccs qualification not achievable

All other teams are unable to qualify as the bears win each tie break

caveat: this could be utter crap and wrong but don't think so. Still though nice to be involved in a key game, if only due to scheduling reasons.

I expect our game to be much closer, regardless of who I put in the starting lineup, but I won't be taking any risks unless Perrin beats Berty. Need to get that 2nd seed.

Falcons lose at home to the Buccaneers... the six representatives for the NFC in the 2012/13 playoffs shall be

    1. Washington Redskins (14-1) (Div:5-0) (Con:10-1)
    2. Green Bay Packers (12-3) (Div:4-1) (Con:9-2)
    3. Carolina Panthers (12-3) (Div:3-2) (Con:8-3)
    4. San Francisco 49ers (10-5) (Div:4-1) (Con:7-4)
    5. New Orleans Saints (10-5) (Div:4-1) (Con:7-4)
    6. Chicago Bears (8-7) (Div:3-2) (Con:7-3)

Only one question is yet to be answered however. Who will receive a wildcard round bye? The cheese head scum know all they have to do is defeat AD's Vikings... The panthers fans pray as they prepare for their own divisional closer knowing they need to win to be in with a chance of that coveted number two spot.
