is there community's broadband around dunmore east?

I live in the country about 3 miles from dunmore east. I have tried to get a landline but Eirecom are complete rip off merchants and even though there was a phone line in this house before they are now quoting for very expensive works. I heard that there used to be community broadband but I can only find one for west Waterford...... Can anyone shed some light please before I go cross eyed looking at my phone:-)

Hiya what i was telling you about was Irish WAN, they had a website and everything, including a big community on boards.ie but they are hard to find information on now.

http://waterford.irishwan.org/ was the website but doesn't seem to work now. Checking the way back machine gives some information:
http://web.archive.org/web/20040802051355/http://www.southeastwan.org/

Seems the website hasnt been active since 2007. Maybe the roll out of proper broadband everywhere has killed it?

Try here though, it lists lots of other companies that provide internet access.

Looks like they are gone. There is an amazing network over in west Waterford. I looked at that list.... Very interesting that digiweb say it's free for satellite, as they quoted me 250 yesterday! Going to give imagine a call and if that fails then it mobile broadband I go:-(
