Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

hi all. ive recently began buying kerosene at the pump and usually fill two twenty litre drums. the problem is when im putting it into my tank it just seems to spill everywhere. the tank hole is about 6 foot off the ground. the drums are almost flat topped. i have tried everything from making funnels to standing on the tank and pouring it directly down but it still goes everywhere. is there anything i can get to help. is it possible to get a long nozzle as with a 5 litre oil tank to screw on to the 20 litre. there must be something out there

Try your local agri / hardware supplies for a hand siphon transfer pump.

I managed it by first transferring from the 20L canister into a 4L petrol can. Easier to lift!

Get your hands on a traffic cone. Great funnel!

It would be cheaper to buy the siophan as mentioned above. Also i think its the weight of the drum is more the problem.

Get two more drums and half fill them? When full to the brim they are difficult to transfer.
Also try turning them so the spout is not at the bottom and air can come back in, this could help stop it "splurting"

Got one of these on Halfords.

    This is how it works

I set a 25 litre container on top of the tank and use the siphon.

That's what I went for. Great job until someone else nicked it.

An ordinary hose works just as well.
