Don't usually eat in pubs around Grafton Street looking for a pub around Grafton Street that does decent pub grub and nice Guinness it will be for tomorrow night about 6pm only 4 or 5 of us so imagine a table won't be any hassle. Any ideas?

It's a little away from grafton but not much - against the grain on the bottom of wexford street is a craft beer and foodie place - they really give a crap about the quality of their product and looking after their customers.

Ooh! Either that or if you go to the izikaya bar on georges street - the restaurant part at street level is drop in, food is great for the price, or if you prefer you can order most of their dishes in the bar downstairs. Japanese stuff but gorgeous food, they do a cracking burger too.

Davy Byrnes just off Grafton Street do nice grub and a savage pint

Edit: Completely agree on Against the Grain btw, excellent pub, and the staff are brilliant

Another vote for Against The Grain.
We need more places like it in Dublin.

O'Neills on Suffolk Street - extensive menu, reasonably priced, big portions and VERY tasty pints of porter.

+1 on O'Neill's. It might seem a bit touristy at times as it's listed in a lot of the guides but to be fair the grub is top notch. Loads of choice and I can vouch for good Guinness in there too. Havent been to against The Grain I might have to check that out myself. Ohh and Davy Byrne's is good too when it's not mega busy.

    O'Donoghues on Suffolk Street.

Lovely grub, atmosphere, friendly staff and more importantly a beautiful creamy Pint of Guinness! :)

Bit further but Bull and Castle at Christchurch, similar to Against The Grain in the Gastropub field.

The Market Bar on Fade st. do very good "pub grub". Here's their menu. It's always busy and there is a good mix of people drinking and eating.

There are more and more popping up.

Against The Grain also own The Brew Dock at Busaras Luas stop and The Black Sheep on Capel St - both are also doing lovely beers and food.

L Mulligan Grocer in Stoneybatter, and WJ Kavanagh's on Dorset St are similar.

The Bull & Castle is reasonably priced for food, and their house Golden Ale is €3.80 a pint, can't go wrong.

The three Porterhouses, two of them in town, do food and excellent drinks selections.

O'Neill's is a great bar, with lovely big portioned food and a decent selection of craft beers on tap and in bottles.

Actually, a decent walk would go from Porterhouse North --> WJK --> Black Sheep --> O'Neills --> B&C
