Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Chelea play the whipping boys of the group and require a miracle to reach the knock-out stages of the UCL.

Shakthar beating or drawing with Juventus will ensure that they top the group, subsequently, a Juventus win will see them top the group.

Chelsea will be without Terry and Lampard and Sturridge is a major doubt, Luiz will be back but walks a suspension tight rope along with Ramires.

Team I expect to play :

    Cech

    Ivanovic--Cahill--Luiz--Cole

    Ramires--Mikel

    Mata
    Oscar
    Hazard

    Torres

    Chelsea 3 - 0 FC Nordsjaelland.

All the drama is in Donetsk though and a draw is odds on with the bookies but it remains to be seen if Juventus will be happy with a draw and finishing 2nd which could spur Shakthar on.

No doubt if it ends in a draw the tin foil hats will be out in some sections.

Juventus would definitely take a draw in Donetsk IMO. I don't see there being any drama in this group this evening.

Course they would, it would be silly if they went out looking for the draw as Shakthar can punish anyone.

My thinking is the same as yours, I cant see past a Chelsea win and a draw in Donetsk though.

Why do you not expect Azpilicueta to play?

Will Chelsea take EL seriously if that's where they end up do you think?

Coz Luiz is back and it should push Ivanovic to RB.

I'd personally play Azpilicueta over Ivanovic but Rafa may see it differently.

Nope, I can imagine the main focus will be the league and FA cup and then the EL.

Our squad isnt the biggest but I'd iamgine we'd see changes and fringe players in the EL.

    Hilario

    P.Ferreira Ivanovic Cahill Bertrand

    Romeu Lamps

    Moses Piazon Marin

    Sturridge

Azpilicueta - Ivanovic - Cahil - Cole for me with Luiz leading the entertainment on the team bus.

Was thinking that alright. Be interesting to see though if they did how far they could get.

Probably not IMO as by then the 'ultimate prize' will be to get back into the Champions League, and 6th won't cut it this year.

With Luiz playing Rafa had 2 clean sheets, and with him out of the team they shipped 3 away to West Ham, its safe to assume he'll be thrown straight back in.

Chelsea should win this easily, if they don't, I am sure Roman has his axe sharpened.

Chelsea need a huge performance tonight, we need to try get some confidence back into the team, When you actually see the teams that qualified top of their groups I think both Shakhtar & Juve will want to qualify top too, I reckon there will be a few twists in this group before the night is out.

    Chelsea to win 4-0

We should do, but anything short of a mauling will have everyone on Rafa's back.

This ^^. I think Azpilicueta is a pretty good FB. That back 4 listed above is very solid. I think Luis should be dropped so that he gets his fcuking head right. He is a terrific footballing CB but a headless chicken and he needs to get that sorted. Putting him on the bench might give him the wake up call he needs.

Thats why he should play at home to team that we should be beating easily, his ability on the ball and willingness to carry the ball out will take a bit of pressure off the CM's.

By all accounts FC Nords shouldnt bother us at all and he shouldnt have to much defensively to do so I'd be playing as many attacking options as possible.

I expect both Shaktar and Nords to be leading at the same time at some point in the evening, just for the lulz. Neither will win though.
