Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Has anyone claimed back tax from NZ after returning to Ireland?
Is there a limit as to long you can be back before still being allowed to claim?

I filled in the forms just before I left NZ and then they forwarded on a cheque (to me in Ireland) for my taxback.

Well actually first off they sent off a bill saying I owe $1000 but I rang up and queried it and it worked out they owed me something like $100 so they sent a cheque on.

It's years since I worked there and was wondering if there was still a way to claim anything or if it is too late! (Probably) I started filling out the forms before I left but didn't have all the necessary docs and then left and got distracted.......

I'd say check their website and/or send them an email.

I've don it recently when I came back.

Fill out an IR-3, an IR-886 & an IR-50 (I think - ghet them from the website). Just download the 2012 ones and change the date yourself on them. Then posted them, along with prove of airline tickets to IRD and about 5 weeks later got a cheque in the post - they'll be shut down over christmas I'd imagine

was actually quite impressed with how easy it was

I've done it this week and have been back since April 2011. There's no minimum / maximum time to claim... although the Tax Year needs to be over to claim for previous year.

Again, as a previous poster said, they'll be closed for Christmas but reassured me not to worry (!) that I'd get money back my mid- to late January. Nice people to deal with....
