Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Putting my 82 gwagon thru this afternoon. Engine has been changed and obviously wont match the engine number on the VO5 form, is that likely to be a problem?

    Checklist...
    uk vo5 form
    vrt reg form filled out
    my drivers license
    household utility bill
    pay slip with pps number
    €250 fee
    insurance details...

    Am i missing anything?

ok... so went up and provided all the paperwork. Have to wait for a call back as the jeep isn't in their system.

Whats the deal with the number of seats? It was nearly registered as a 4 seater cos the middle lap belt wasn't present. If I later choose to put rear trunk seats in do I have to re-register it as a 7 seater? Do insurance companies insist on this in the vehicle log book?

    Gwagon, nice ;)

My 110 is shown as having 12 seats in the log book as that's what the chassis number said it had despite it only having 5 now. Mind you, when I imported it under the old system, neither it or my 101 were inspected and it took them 3 months to find a statistical code for the 101

Insurance company have a copy of the logbook and it's insured for up to 8 seats (I think that's what the max is on most policies). I don't think you'd need to re-register it for 7 seats (which would involve an assessor these days) but declare it to the insurance company.

There are a few Gwagons here so don't know why it's not on there system.

When I went to VRT office a few years ago to register my 1967 Fiat 850 Coupe I was told that they couldn't find it on the system and so I would have to go away and wait until they found the correct code. Luckily I had a picture of one on my phone, read out the number plate to the lady and hey presto....she was able to copy the code from that one. No waiting required. So that's my advice for everyone. Bring along a picture of a similar car that's already registered (or indeed just make a note of the number plate) and it makes life much simpler.

I did that, gave them details inc registration of an Irish registered 101, still took them 3 months and a lot of nagging. They gave me a scruffy photocopy of a latter to show the Garda while I drove around with no tax for three months
