Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

ITV4, not sure if 3e will be inflicting themselves on the beautiful game.

So then its come down to a shoot out between two clubs who are playing in different matches, the failure by Liverpool to put the game against Young Boys to bed means that put simply LFC have to better the result of the game between YB and Anzhi in Switzerland. If that doesn't happen then it all gets a bit mysterious something to do with heads to heads if say Udinese win and Anzhi win but that can be worried about at full time.

Lucas, Agger and Gerrard have not travelled the Guardian has this list

Reina; Johnson, Skrtel, Carragher, Enrique; Henderson, Allen, Sahin; Shelvey, Suárez, Sterling Jones, Cole, Assaidi, Coates, Downing, Suso, Coady, Wisdom.

    From UEFA.com

Liverpool are second on head-to-head record ahead of Young Boys and will qualify with a win. A draw would also take them through provided Young Boys do not win. Liverpool would be out with a defeat, even if Young Boys lose, as YB would be top of a three-way head-to-head involving the Reds and Udinese.

    http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/news/newsid=1898512.html

A win would see Liverpool through.

Very good side - a lot of form in there, plenty of experience where it matters, and a threat off the bench in Shelvey, Downing and Assaidi...

Johnson aside, i would be happy with that

    Allen Henderson
    Sahin
    ??

    Sterling shouldn't be playing.

He will probably get a rest the weekend

    Sterling shouldn't be playing.

I'd usually agree but I think this game is more of a priority than the weekend, hopefully he will get a rest then

Can't see Udinese being too bothered. They are already out, so will be focused on their Monday game v Sampdoria.

    It's very simple Mike.

We have to equal or better Young Boy's result.

Young Boys have to better our result.

So it's advantage us in this respect. However, Young Boys are home and we're away. We have to assume it's a win we need.

But to be honest if we can't beat a Udinese team that have nothing to play for then we don't deserve to progress in this com[etition.

    No Coates or Assiadi

    No Shelvey :)

Really should have been put to bed 2 weeks ago by beating Young Boys at home then would not have come down to this.

I haven't seen anyone reliable confirm that team. I can't see Sterling starting.

#LFC XI: Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Carragher, Skrtel, Henderson, Sahin, Allen, Suso, Downing, Suarez.

Wonder if Enrique or Downing will be at left back. Allen could have done with a break too.

    thankfully no Sterling.

well done Brendan, using a bit of common sense, though i really would've played Assaidi.

Ugh, Downing. Surely Wisdom should be used tonight?

If 'The Rodgers' has a decent run as manager Joe Allen will play the most games in Liverpool history.

If we both lose it's Youngs boys that go through.

Oh really? How does this work? Will we not be on the same amount of points, with us having a superior head to head having beaten and drawn with them?

Udinese will have 7 points as well, so it's a mini league between the 3.

Is Brendan Rodgers taking the competition seriously?

    Yes, up to a point.

    Udinese starting 11

Daniele Padelli, (2 games this season)
    Giovanni Pasquale,
    Danilo,
    Marco Davide Faraoni,
Thomas Heurtaux, (5 games this season)
    Giampiero Pinzi,
    Roberto Pereyra,
    Emmanuel Badu,
    Pablo Armero,
Diego Fabbrini, ( 6 games this season)
    Mathias Ranégie

looks like a mix and match of young, old and marginal players.

Does anyone know how strong a team that is? The only I notice is no De Natale

Only selection I am unhappy with is seeing Downing in the team. Other than that, I think the team is strong enough to win this game.

Haha....the cameraman blocking 'The Rodgers' view of Joe Allen.

More doubts about Sahin forming in my mind.

    Sahin didn't fancy it again

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,629 ✭✭✭googled eyes

Is it not the case that if they can't stop it bleeding he can't continue? (I know they could stuff his nose up, I'm just asking)

That'll really count against whoever picked him in the draft.

'Sahin can only last ten minutes before he gets a nosebleed and is forced to go off.'

    Would rather shelvey anyway
