Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No, Young Boys out. Anzhi finish second

It was a better finish than Young Boys but they seem like headless chickens at times in the last five minutes.

That ending has really pissed me off, when will we learn. Good to get through though!

Fúck you Jordan Henderson. Nearly messed up at the end there. My heart. This club will give me a heart attack one of these days I'd say.
He was very good tonight overall thankfully

Good result, good performance. Suarez was unlucky not to have a goal. All in all, we deserve the win.

Not sure why Sterling was brought on, as with the last game it was not the smartest thing to do, he doesn't have the game intelligence yet to play it smart, instead he thinks he should be rushing forward.

    You sure?

Yup. Anzhi were already guaranteed qualification before tonight.

A little too cocky at the end but barring a 10 minute spell in the second half a pretty good performance.

Thought he did all right. Sitting back on a lead is dangerous.

how were Anzhi guaranteed qualification before tonight? I saw that on the provisional table

all 3 teams had 10 points, surely there was a slim chance Young Boys could have pipped them on goal difference? With Young Boys beating them tonight Anzhi can't have gone through on the head to head either

Nothing to do with goal difference. When 3 teams finish level it goes to a mini league. With all 3 on 10 points, the mini leagie between them all read:

    Liverpool 7
    Anzhi 6
    Young Boys 4

Same way that we would have been out if we lost and Young boys lost as we would have finished third in the mini league with YB and Udinese with YB getting second in the group and us 4th.

It's not on goal difference. It goes down to a mini league between the three teams.

Take Suarez out of that team and its not pretty.

Pitch looked ****e but you'd still expect Liverpool to pass it better than they did there tonight.

What a disaster of a stadium. You can see where Italian football's problems are. What is their fascination with having running tracks. Is athletics that popular over there?

Such a harsh sending off. Ridiculous.

    Liverpool better side.

If it was in The EPL then his first yellow would probably have been a red but yeah the second yellow was very harsh.

Nearly all stadiums in Italy are owned by the local council and are only rented by the clubs. The stadiums are multi-purpose because they are built to service the whole community and not just the football team.

I agree though that Udinese's is definitely one of the ugliest in Italy and in eager need of a coat or two of paint.

Not really, I didn't think Sterling was at fault for giving away possession near the end.
