Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    hi guys
This is my first post and i've come here to ask for opinions and guidance based on your experiences.
the short and long of it is I am an IT Analyst supporting 100 users in a team of 4.
i've got some serious issues with my manager and it has cause me a lot of stress. i'll try and keep it brief without going in to great detail as this has been going on for a long time and everyone has a limit.

Due to budget contraints etc our team was originally 6. One left and one redundant. Originally the team consisted of two 1st line and two 2nd line analysts with deputy and senior manager. Since the redundancies the team has undergone a restructure which was inevitable.

Resulting an imbalance of workload. Where there were two in the same post there is now one, meaning me. i have an on-going medical condition which my manager is fully aware of however from his actions he refuses to acommodate me. HR are aware of my condition as i regularly go to the hospital.

I used to enjoy my job but now i absoloutley loathe coming in to work due to the processes my manager is to trying to put in place. Those being what i call firefighting or donkey work. meaningless admin tasks that are not required but in fact impede my work. i am struggling with the work load and often he uses a harsh tone with me and has caused embarrasment.
in the world of IT we use a metodology called ITIL which are set of guidelines used to manage an IT dept. He is using this process as gospel when the correct tools aren't even in place to follow this practice.
This results in deadlines missed, calls missed, emails flying back and forth. In the end i get questioned and is pulled in to meetings. I have to constantly chase tails due to the incompetence of other team members and primarily due to a lack of understanding from my managers side who hasnt even got an ITIL qualification (i have).

i have since formulated a long statement and submitted it to my union rep. i am due to have a meeting with him but he mentioned ultimatley it is down to me if i want to go down the grivieance route.

So what do you guys think? has anyone been down this road. i can see this getting ugly but im sick of this. There is a lot more but as i said brief as possible.

    thanks

Well you have to wonder if its worth it..
Once you kick the wasps nest there is no way to unkick it.. Depending on the type of company you're card could be marked for the duration of your stay.. How long do you expect it to be before your team moves to another project and the team dynamic changes for the better...
