Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Pester her relentlessly.

    I wouldn't do that.

1: You'll piss her off and she'll be even less likely to give it to you, let alone go with you.

2: She could call the Gardaí and get the whole thing turned around on him claiming pestering.

Before all the crazy schemes and talk of Gardaí, why not just make a simple phone call to her, ask her how she is getting on in her new life, new place, living with the boyfriend and then ask is she still ok to go to the gig? She might just have a lot in her plate with all of the change and text messages and emails are easily ignored/forgotten about.

Text her saying it was not her fault but your . That it was her heart on the line and that you really ****ed it up this time .
Then add the banjo part thats the same in every song for affect . ****in mumford banjo player only knows one song id live to meet him in a dark CAVE .

Normally, I would say it sounds like the op's friend doesnt want to go anymore and pulling that "blank shite" rather than just coming out and telling the truth... But it appears the op gave the friend the money, but didnt recieve the ticket. So thats really bad. Its one thing to change your mind but not giving them their ticket?

But you can't really put anything past anyone in a situation like this. The friend may have just taken the money and didnt get the tickets, perhaps they want to take someone else... its bad.

But its something you sort out yourself and not with the Gardai (besides they wont help you)

There's a very simple solution to this. First of all, exhaust every reasonable way for your friend to respond. No pestering or demanding. Keep it civil. Then if you have no joy, then this is what you need to do. I take it Mumford & Sons have Facebook page? Then contact them directly. Show them the copies of your original messages and how your friend wouldn't respond after you giving her the money. They will doublecheck your details and most likely you will get a free ticket and a goody bag for your trouble. If they really feel for you, they might even call out what your mate did onstage. Either way, you'll get justice!:D

No offence, but I highly doubt she's "messing with the wrong one". You just came on to an internet forum to piss & moan. If you really wanted to sort this out you'd have done it ages ago, not a week before the concert.

None taken, I have been mad busy with college and messages her on fb about 3 weeks ago saying that I would call to see her to make a plan, she messages back to say that was grand, I just assumed it was, didn't think there was anything to be sorted until yesterday. All I was trying to say is that she won't be getting away with it, mostly the reason I posted was to see if anyone had any ideas on how to get the ticket back, if the gardai would help etc. but also to piss and moan cause I'm pissed off and needed to vent.

Embarrassing for you, no-one does that anymore.

Also, OP you're getting worked up for no reason. You haven't even called this girl, have you? FFS not even a phone call and then just straight on the net, complaining. I think this is all in your head.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,166 ✭✭✭Fr_Dougal

Message her and tell her that you're really sorry but you can't go now. Then ask her for her address so you can send her a Christmas card....then burn her house down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 724 ✭✭✭jonsnow

Why not openly reveal what a thieving fcuker she is on your Facebook page. She deserves it.

DO NOT DO THIS.You would be wide open for a defamation suit if she had a reasonable explanation and could end up owing her a fortune and a grovelling written apology.

    I am embarrassed.

Here I was with my fly down and lad out, creeping up behind someone who has wronged me in some way, after drinking a load of cider and then I find out that nobody blasts people with piss anymore. What's the world coming to?

You should definitely go to the police. They'll give you an armed escort to the venue, they'll clear the front row so you have lots of room and they'll run you home afterwards. Oh and they'll probably taser your friend if she dares to show up.

Okay guys may have slightly over reacted, she had a family emergency, now I feel like the cúnt. Ah well sure alls well that ends well.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,203 ✭✭✭sfwcork

you still should get naked and record it.Just to be sure like!

  • Registered Users Posts: 5 Halycon days

Another option is to post her number on here. I wouldn't do it personally but I'm sure there would be more than a few people happy to oblige with a simple text asking why she hasn't responded to you. I'm sure after a few texts, she might see the error of her ways in stealing from you.

But then again, any chance of getting the ticket would vanish and you would lose a 'friend', but with friends like that you'd be better off anyhow.

You can't have 5 pages of comments and pass it off with the "family emergency" line ffs and say nothing more about it, What was the emergency that took weeks to solve?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 735 ✭✭✭joydivision

Family emergency is only recent which is why she didn't answer my texts and calls. I have been really looking forward to this and have had my own stuff going on, thus I stupidly over reacted.

BS. Someone pointed her in the direction of this thread, she googled your username and found out that it was you that had posted the thread.

Why wouldn't she? They are going to a concert together not on holiday.

Show her this thread, how you suggested she was a thief and threatened her before telling the world about her family emergency.

    She'll have a great laugh.

Apparently somebody died the day before the concert or something, it was a blatant lie. I had texted the night before and she apparently forgot to text me back and only after me ringing incessantly the day of the show did she text me to tell me that some gran aunt or someone had died and that she would give me my money back.
