Drivers

Hi

I have reinstalled windows on an old laptop I have. It is a compaq presario v6000 with the service tag being v6150ea. I have looked on the hp site and came across what should be the right drivers. They are not being accepted as the correct drivers.

If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

Check that you are getting the correct drivers ie 32 or 64 bit.Also what message are you getting?

What particular drivers won't install? Video, Sound, Chipset, Card Reader etc?

I think the issue may be that HP's support site is asking for the product number rather than the service tag number, and it just happens that Compaq have another product which corresponds to your service tag.

Ok I think previous posters have missed vital point...what version of windows are you trying to install?? XP, Vista??
