Does anyone know of a web browser that automatically clears your history and cache when you close it? I'm tired of people finding my stash of porn. I have Dolphin mobile web browser on my phone and it does exactly that, but there is not a desktop version.

You're in the wrong forum but respect for honesty in your post!

Couldn't you just use Google Chrome in Incognito mode?
Ctlr+Shift+N to open an incoginito tab

I use the 'Click & Clean' extension for Chrome, but I think you're missing the point a bit. Why are you sharing browser sessions with others? Why not set up separate users on your PC, so that you each login separately, with a good strong password protecting your browser, and your files, and your emails etc.

THe problem with that is when you type stuff directly into the address bar, it remembers it??? And then when you type stuff again it suggests all the bad stuff I was looking at. But actually, I think there's a way to turn off suggestions...

I guess I'm just too lazy to go into incognito mode.

It's when I'm with my SO and they want to look something up on my computer.

Hit the 'Start' button and choose 'switch user'. It's the only way.

Mac. But I get your point. That arouses too much suspicion though.

Internet Explorer 9 has an option to delete all you history on browser close. Windows itself can also be set up to delete your temporary files when it's shut down.

    Firefox has that option too.

It doesn't save anything in incognito mode, go test it out to see.

If all else fails, another option would be to get an old/cheap USB stick and use it with a portable browser from PortableApps.com.

    EDIT: http://osxportableapps.sourceforge.net/

Does the Mac not have some way of handling multiple users?

Don't all browsers allow you to decide how long to keep history? Set it to 0 and history shouldn't be kept...

Not too sure about other browsers but I'd imagine there's similar fixes for each.

I use Firefox and here's some privacy options:

    Disable autocomplete and history etc
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Disabling_autocomplete_-_Firefox

Set up user profiles so you can keep a profile for... whatever!
That means separate history and bookmarks etc and can't see either unless user profle switched manually. Handy for separating work and home bookmarks
Start > Run > Type CMD and press enter > Type firefox.exe -profilemanager and press enter and then you will have options to set up user profiles (Or whatever the equivalent is in MAC)

Just ctrl shift and delete together and then hit enter.

or change settings in firefox, chrome, internet explorer to delete your history on exit.

or go into private browsing when watching porn.

Set up a new account for friends or download another browser and hide the browser and delete browser icon from start menu, desktop etc
