    Are hazel good for direct planting from cuttings?
    Think it's going to be tough. I've never heard of hazel being grown from cuttings-perhaps it can be done with the right shoots and hormones-in a specially prepared bed, but it can be propagated by layering.
    However I'd say it is difficult process-any hazel I've bought from nurseries was grown from seed, so that tells much about the economics of growing it from cuttings.
