Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The papers will be all over the Rafa/Torres connection.

Fairplay to him though stepping up to take it and demanding it to by the looks of it.

Was that the first penalty he's taken at Chelsea? I can't remember if there was one so far.

Scored the first with his studs, nice.

3 different pronunciations of Cuellar by Brian Kerr in about 10 seconds :)
    Cowler, Cooler, Coolaar.

The first 15 minutes was blistering. Should have had a penalty and could have scored another two. It was always going to take a bit of time for Benitez to get his ideas across but there are some noticeable differences in the team today, far more width than Di Matteo's side, a greater willingness to play it long, early down the channels, Torres running the channels more and Mata playing centrally and ever so slightly deeper.

Shame about Romeu, he was playing very well.

Delighted for Torres, there even seemed to be a bit of swagger in the goal celebration after the second.

There'll obviously be a stupidly ott reaction to Torres' performance today, worth noting they're probably playing the worst side in the premier league over the past few months. He's some man for showing glimpses of his old self now and again to get people excited that he's back but I can't see him getting back to consistency

Great effort from Torres, Sunderland are absolutely shocking in defence.

Its still a measure of how far we have fallen that we are celebrating an easy game against Sunderland and a "top" striker scoring and taking peno's.
    Nice though!

Could have had another penalty there, although probably would have been harsh considering Moses was offside.

Hoping Fernando gets the hat-trick today.

I remember them beating Chelsea alright, 4-2 was it, back in the middle of 90's?. My ex slagged me for months

4-1, December 1999. Phillips and Quinn with screamers. Desailly had a nightmare and was taken off.

Even in the Bruce days we used to go through seasons losing maybe 2 or 3 games at home (to the big sides) and sneaking a win or a couple of draws from games against Arsenal at home etc.

We are absolute dog **** now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Cech was terrible there...whole thing started from Sunderland wrongly getting a corner a minute or 2 earlier.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,038 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

You have to feel sorry for Rafa when his keeper doesnt even want to make a save, what the **** was cech doing.
