Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dress for Masked Ball

I'm going to a masked ball on NYE. I've never been to one before and I'm just wondering whether most girls would wear an evening dress or a LBD type dress? I have a lovely floor length silk dress but don't want to be overdressed if most girls there will be wearing short mini dresses.

Also don't want to look old and frumpy - ha a bit paranoid about looking old now that I'm not in my twenties when most of my friends still are!

I'd consider a masked ball to be like a black tie ball, therefore requiring evening dress. To me, evening dress doesn't have to mean full length (although that would be more traditional), but it should be appropriate.

It's usually a bit of a mixed bag at these things. There will probably be lots of long evening dresses and a few shorter more "going out" type dresses. I would take the opportunity to get a wear out of the long dress if I were you. It's nice to get glammed up!

Keep your hair down if you don't want to look too formal. It might be younger looking as well.
