Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Log Book Question

    Hello all,

    I need a little advice about a recent purchase I made.
    No doubt someone on Boards will have encountered this before and may be able to pass oon the knowledge.

    I bought a motorcycle recently (privately) and got the log book from the seller.

    The name of the seller was not on the log book,but the name of the previous owners was.Also the log book had not been signed by the person whose name was on it.

    I am wondering what to do about this,because I want to move this into my name and to be able to tax it.

    I,m sure this is not uncommon,but I have not encountered it before,which is why I ask.

    If anyone can offer advice on what to do so that I sort this issue,I would appreciate it.

    Well, the first seller should have filled it out and sent it off himself, because giving away a vehicle while its still in your own name is stupid (he'll be blamed for speeding, crime, etc...)!

    Anyway, all you have to do it fill it out (instructions on the back) and send it off (somewhere in Clare, I think?)...and you'll receive a new log book with your name printed on it. It's free.

    And if/when you sell it on, you fill it out with the new owner's details and send it off. Don't give it to the new owner.

    seems a bit dodgy no?

    private seller, different name on log book & didnt sign it?

    As been said, fill it out yourself and send on to Shannon. Anything dodgy will show up when the try change ownership to you (happened with a storln car on motors forum iirc; he got notified that there was a change of ownership or something)

    Could be nothing either :)
