Looking for some stocking fillers

So, the parents are looking for some stocking fillers for me. Have a few of the non-manga/anime books next to the bed, but haven't got around to reading them; they haven't really held my attention long enough to get into them (used to read a lot, but not so any more).

So, looking for some "picture" books (as opposed to text) that can be bought easily enough online/in a shop in Dublin. Death Note/mecha/xmen/whatever. Need it to be a big thick book with lots of small pictures with a storyline that will grab my brain and stuff it through a meargrinder, and last a few weeks.

Death Note is a good choice (unless you have all the volumes already)

Depending on the price range of the book, I'd recommend the Walking Dead Compendium 1. A huge 1000 page book that brings you halfway through the comic series, and with the second compendium out too, you can buy that at a later date, if you like it, to bring you nearly up to date (Compendium 2 brings you up to vol 16 and vol 17 was released a few days ago I think)

It has a very good story and with 1000 pages, should last you a while
