Any way to get around nvidia gpu throttling on battery?

Hey all, running 540m in my laptop and the frame rate drops badly on battery. Seems to be fairly common issue but haven't turned up any solutions around google.. I've got the laptop running on "full performance" and I've set the nvidia control panel to maximum performance on both global and game profiles. Not a big issue..…

Not a big issue.. Just brought my laptop downstairs to compare me running Far Cry 3 on my laptop to my housemate's epic new PC setup running it.
